Grassroots Sign-On Letter Galvanizes Advocates for Even Start
Hundreds of national and local organizations from 36 states signed on to a letter to preserve funding for Even Start. The letter was spearheaded by First Focus, the National Council of LaRaza, the National Center for Family Literacy, and the Goodling Institute for Family Literacy, with assistance from the NCL. First Focus delivered it to the House and Senate Appropriations Committee Chairmen and Ranking Members as well as the members of the Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies Subcommittees in the House and Senate.
