The House Adult Literacy Caucus and the National Coalition for Literacy are sponsoring a special Congressional Hill Briefing for Representatives, education staff, and advocates on 21st Century Approaches to Adult Literacy. The purpose of the briefing is to provide a forum for House Members and education staff to learn about adult education issues and innovative approaches to adult literacy.
We hope you are available to attend! We also ask that you extend this invitation below to your U.S. Representative and his or her education staff.
Action:
- Call your U.S. Representative and ask to speak to the staff over education issues.
- Share the information about the Congressional Briefing and invite your Representative and education staff to attend.
- Is your Representative a Member of the House Adult Literacy Caucus? If not, please invite him or her to join by contacting John Martin, Legislative Director with Congressman Phil Roe. For reference, here is a copy of the Dear Colleague Letter.(Your Representative does not need to be a Caucus Member to attend the Congressional Briefing.)
