ADULT
BASIC EDUCATION AND LITERACY JOURNAL
The following columns appeared as Research Digests in the Adult Basic
Education and Literacy Journal. The editor of the digests is Cristine
Smith, assistant professor at the Center for International Education at
the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, and former Deputy Director of
the National Center for the Study of Adult Learning and Literacy.
The Journal is co-published by the Commission on Adult Basic Education
and ProLiteracy Worldwide. Each issue contains 3-4 peer-reviewed research
articles as well as resource reviews, articles by and for practitioners,
a WebScan column that reviews adult education and literacy-related Web
sites, and an occasional Viewpoint article in which selected leaders in
the field comment on current trends and issues.
